Item Open Access Contents - Belphégor Vol 1 No 2(2001-06) Frigerio, VittorioItem Open Access Séries, suites et redites en culture médiatique(Dalhousie University. Electronic Text Centre, 2002) Bettinotti, Julia; Jeannesson, Gaelle; Truel, Marie-FrancoiseThe goal of the authors of this article is to discuss the specific form of repetition that Umberto Eco calls "remake". The serial aspect of remakes is based on the systematic use of processes of repetition that produce texts so close to the original model, as to appear almost indistinguishable. A study of the theme of "desert romances" allows for a better understanding of the present evolution of the canons of aesthetics, as well as of the upheaval it caused in textual interpretation.Item Open Access Les Vampires(Dalhousie University. Electronic Text Centre, 2002) Chazal, SergeWhat was the influence of the First World War upon French cinema? This article offers an interpretation of the effects of the conflict on the movie scene of the time, mostly through an analysis of Louis Feuillades' famous serial, Les vampires (1915).Item Open Access Ecrire pour la jeunesse, ou comment voler la vedette à Super Mario?(Dalhousie University. Electronic Text Centre, 2002) Demers, DominiqueEnglish: Writing for young people, or How to steal Super Mario's spotlight. What is the nature of the opposition between children's literature and the other media, particularly video games? This article deals with the connections between these different universes, produced for children and adolescents. Its goal is to better identify the mechanisms of the migrations between these various narrative forms, through a genetic study of several works and an examination of the architecture of the narratives and their representations of childhood.Item Open Access Les Formes à épisodes, des structures multi-médiatiques (parallélisme et interaction des ensembles paralittéraires et télévisés)(Dalhousie University. Electronic Text Centre, 2002) Besson, AnneEnglish: Serials as multi-media structures (similarities and interactions between paraliterary and TV narratives). TV and popular literature influence each other since they both make use of similar structures, the two kinds of serial forms represented by the cycle and the series. In spite of this, each media maintains its specific characteristics and these can be explored but do not necessarily have to be. Indeed, even if TV sitcoms and serial novels have adopted similar strategies, TV serials and novelistic cycles use different structural characteristics.Item Open Access Une Forte Impression: Récit paralittéraire, imprimé et culture médiatique(Dalhousie University. Electronic Text Centre, 2002) Bleton, PaulItem Open Access Homo Sapiens & Homo Globine, ou Les avatars du vampire!(Dalhousie University. Electronic Text Centre, 2002) Spehner, NorbertThe author offers a guided tour of the innumerable representations of the vampire, in novels as well as in the movies. He deals in particular with the migrations of the vampire from genre to genre and from media to media, and proposes a typology to better understand this character and the uses that have been made of him.Item Open Access La Chevauchée médiatique de Buffalo Bill(Dalhousie University. Electronic Text Centre, 2002) Pons, Christian-MarieThis article studies both the story and the legend of Buffalo Bill. It deals with three separate aspects. First, the transition from history (the real adventures of the hero) to literature (their narration in dime-novel format). Then, the media effect of magnification created by the switch to the theatre and the circus. Finally, the narrative proliferation of the legend, freed from any connection to actual history. Buffalo Bill appears as one of the first, and of the most successful cases of adaptation to the star system.Item Open Access Chansons d'amour et roman sentimental populaire: Quand l'air ne fait pas la chanson(Dalhousie University.
