Persepolis et les révolutions de Marjane Satrapi

Abstract

This article examines some of the autorepresentational strategies in Marjane Satrapi's Persepolis. The first section deals with the generic aspect of the tale and the institutional and cultural position of its autobiographical subject. Then, an analysis of the narrative voices and of some segments of the narration leads to the identification of the tension between the narrating subject and the subject of the narration. Finally, a discussion of the art shows the importance of the reader's point of view in the construction of the story's meaning.

Cet article passe en revue certaines des stratégies qui fondent l'autoreprésentation dans Persepolis de Marjane Satrapi. Le premier volet révèle la portée générique du récit ainsi que la posture institutionnelle et culturelle de son sujet autobiographique. Ensuite, un examen des voix narratives et des segments du récit permet de cerner la tension qui existe entre le sujet narrant et le sujet narré. Dans un dernier temps, l'étude de la mise en images rend compte de l'importante place accordée au regard du lecteur dans la construction du sens du récit.

Questo articolo esamina certune delle strategie di autorappresentazione in Persepolis, di Marjane Satrapi. La prima parte si occupa del lato generico del racconto e della posizione istituzionale e culturale del suo soggetto autobiografico. Segue un'analisi delle voci narrative e dei segmenti di narrazione che permettono di isolare la tensione esistente tra soggetto narrante e soggetto narrato. Infine, l'esame delle immagini rivela il ruolo importante affidato allo sguardo del lettore nella costruzione del racconto.
