Abstract
The article focuses on the examination of evidence-based medicine (EBM) in medicine.
EBM's contribution in the clinical practice has long been used in the
development of institutional and professional guidelines in health promotion and other
disciplines. It presents how EBM diverged from the early anti-authoritarian practices.
It also discusses the significance of EBM being the subject of critical discussions
regarding its nature of evidence. Details on other EBM assumptions are also
discussed.
