Abstract

An original creative work by Marty Grande-Sherbert, this one-act play uses characters in Canada's public domain to examine the consequences of public domain term extension. The playwright has dedicated this work to the public domain under CC0 (https://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/), although acknowledge is appreciated where possible.

Description

A dramatic reading of this play was performed at the 2024 ABC Copyright reception by several conference delegates. Further discussion about the play and its potential in copyright education took place on June 21 at the session, "The Public Domain: Setting the Stage + The Public Domain Ball: A Copyright Murder Mystery" with Marty Grande-Sherbert and Lise Brin (see separate archive entry for session materials). The playwright has dedicated this work to the public domain under CC0 (https://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/), although acknowledge is appreciated where possible.
