The imago Dei is central to Augustine’s De Trinitate. Augustine supports his primary concern of establishing a correct understanding of the Trinity by engaging in a secondary task: the examination of the renewal of the imago Dei. This thesis explores how the whole of the work is oriented towards showing how the renewal of the imago Dei begins in this life as the soul strives to increase its likeness to the Trinity, its divine exemplar, and participate in His life.en_US
